Have you ever wondered how to turn off the transparent title bar in Windows 7? The title bar in application windows takes on a transparent appearance by default in Windows 7. This means that desktop shortcuts and other application title bars are partially visible in the current window’s title bar – making them harder to read, especially if you have a brightly coloured or dark desktop background.
If you find this distracting, you can follow the steps below to turn off the transparency setting. You can also choose a favourite window colour from here too.
- Right click the desktop
- Select Personalize (menu)
- Select Window Colour (hyperlink)
- Select Enable transparency (check box)
- Select Save Changes (button)
- Select X (button) to close the window
The title bars will now no longer be transparent, making them much easier to read.
